PRESIDENTE FIGUEIREDO     Land of Waterfalls     (FULL DAY TOUR)     Presidente Figueiredo is a small town situated in the northern part of the state of the Amazon. The area lies above sandstone rocks of marine origin which gave rise to the formation of dozens of waterfalls, rapids, caverns, grottos, etc.   8:00 am - Pick-up at your hotel in air conditioned vehicle with fluent English speaking guide. Relax and enjoy the scenery along the 100 Km (65 miles) approximately 1 ½ hour drive. Our first stop will be at the IRACEMA FALLS AND CAVES. About 20 minutes of hiking will take us to some caves and waterfalls where you can experience excellent natural swimming and showers in the cascades.
12:00 - After all this hiking and swimming everyone will agree it`s time to appreciate local cuisine. A delicious Tucunare (peacook bass fish) or a tempting churrasco (BBQ) at Alex`s Grill at the URUBUI FALLS & MUNICIPAL PARK will be more than welcome following our 20 minutes walk around the park.
13:30 - First part of the afternoon will be dedicated to the SANTUÁRIO FALLS & ECOLOGICAL RESERVE. Here you will see 3 waterfalls, the highest being 15 meters (50 feet). Here again, swimming in these refreshing waters is a nice treat.
15:30 – In the second part of the afternoon we’ll have a 30 minutes rainforest hike entering the MARUAGA CAVERN area. In this environmental protected site, you’ll enjoy a 18 metres (60 feet) high cave that is 480 metres (1575 feet) deep and though to be approximately 400 million years old. Our local guide will then lead us around the outside of the cavern to walk in crystal water knee high small stream surrounded by the cavern wall and luxuriant forest, a magical moment.

18:00 – Ride back to Manaus (1 ½ hour) to be dropped at your hotel around 20:00 for a well deserved rest.
